ANALYTICAL TESTING

Sterility and endotoxin testing: separate tests, separate claims

5 min · UPDATED 2026-09-07

Sterility and bacterial endotoxin are distinct analyses. Neither is implied by identity or purity testing, and neither is claimed unless a report is published against the batch.

Two different questions

A sterility test asks whether viable microorganisms are present. A bacterial endotoxin test measures pyrogenic fragments that can remain after organisms are gone. Passing one does not answer the other.

Identity and purity testing answers neither question.

Our position

Ascetic Pharma does not describe any research material as sterile, pyrogen-free or injection grade. Where no sterility or endotoxin report is published against a batch, no such property is stated or implied.

Research materials on this site are laboratory chemicals. They are not for human or veterinary use.
